Basketball Recap: Newbury Park Comes Up Short

Newbury Park lost against Notre Dame (SO) back in May of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Newbury Park Panthers lost 72-48 to the Notre Dame (SO) Knights. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Notre Dame (SO) found their leader in freshman Hamiley Arenas, who shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 30 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Arenas has scored at least a third of Notre Dame (SO)'s points. Another player making a difference was Siena Ostick, who went 5 for 10 en route to 10 points.

Newbury Park's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Notre Dame (SO), they moved to 11-8 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Newbury Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 45-20 victory against Agoura on the 21st. As for Notre Dame (SO), they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 97-48 defeat against Sierra Canyon on the 21st.
