Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Pleasant Valley's 13th in Last 14 Outings

Pleasant Valley extended their home winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Aj Gambol. The Pleasant Valley Vikings took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging an 87-47 victory over the Foothill Cougars thanks in part to Gambol, who went 10 for 21 en route to 31 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists. Her evening made it 11 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Nyah Fortune was another key player, going 5 of 9 on her way to 11 points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Foothill lost, don't look at Kalli Smith. Despite the final result, she went 8 for 16 en route to 19 points and seven boards. That was a full 40.4% of Foothill's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mj O'Rorke, who scored nine points and five rebounds.

Pleasant Valley is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Foothill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.
