Softball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Northeast's Winning Streak

Northeast was the 9-7 winner over Moberly when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bearcats took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans on Tuesday. The Bearcats' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Olivia Cross was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Chloe Brumley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Moberly, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Northeast will venture away from home to take on Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Moberly, they will head out to square off against Mexico at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
