Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Northside walked away with it. They never let the Midtown Knights get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Northside has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Midtown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Northside beat the Knights by a score of 5-2 later that day.
