Eleanor Roosevelt's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 47-0 win over Bowie. The Raiders pushed the score to 44-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs had no chance of recovering from.
Eleanor Roosevelt's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Teraz Douglas Jr, who rushed for 80 yards and one TD. Douglas Jr really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Donte Whitaker was in the mix as well, providing Eleanor Roosevelt with one touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Eleanor Roosevelt was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 376 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Eleanor Roosevelt's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: DJ Simmons, Nadir Degree, and Bill Dongmo, who each picked up one sack apiece. Eleanor Roosevelt received some extra help from Whitaker, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Laurel). They blew past Bladensburg, posting a 56-0 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Laurel's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.0 points on average over those games. As for Eleanor Roosevelt, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.
Eleanor Roosevelt didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Laurel in their previous matchup back in October of 2019, but they still walked away with a 20-14 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Spartans' Jaheem Williams, who rushed for 102 yards and one score on only 12 carries.
