The South Point Red Raiders will be playing at home against the Erwin Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in South Point's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last four games.
Two weeks ago, South Point took their contest with ease, bagging a 48-18 victory over Ambassador Christian School. The result was nothing new for the Red Raiders, who have now won seven matchups by 25 points or more so far this season.

South Point found their leader in sophomore Kaveaun Pless, who rushed for 217 yards and one touchdown while picking up 13.6 yards per carry. Pless' rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 103 rushing yards. Jesse Ledford was in the mix as well, providing South Point with two TDs.
South Point was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 342 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 215 rushing yards in five consecutive games.
South Point didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Tucker McWhirter was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by himself. Cayden Rumph got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Erwin had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Huskies 49-21. The Warriors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
South Point better keep an eye on Caden Ingle. He was instrumental in Erwin's win, throwing for 408 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 75.8% of his passes, and also rushing for 53 yards and two scores. That's the most passing yards Ingle has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jah'Baree Tolbert, who rushed for 58 yards and a pair of TDs.
South Point is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.3 points on average over those games. As for Erwin, their record is now 4-7.
