Volleyball Recap: Alleghany's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Alleghany had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Rockbridge County Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-21, 25-12.

Alleghany had a senior duo take command as NEVAEH FORBES had 17 digs and two aces and KYLIE FORBES had six digs and two aces. NEVAEH is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last three games she's played. PAIGE WEBB also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Alleghany's record now sits at 16-3. As for Rockbridge County, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Alleghany and Rockbridge County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Cougars will challenge Staunton at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (39 vs. 181). Meanwhile, Rockbridge County (ranked 111th) will meet Stuarts Draft (ranked 238th) at 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday.
