Basketball Recap: Northwestern Comes Up Short

If Northwestern was feeling good fresh off their 51-30 takedown of Union City on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Brentwood Academy Eagles an easy 57-32 victory.

Despite the loss, Northwestern still got an impressive performance from Makayla Presser-Palmer, who posted 23 points. Presser-Palmer is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in each of the last 29 games she's played dating back to last season.

Northwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Brentwood Academy, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Northwestern will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Wekiva at 1:00 p.m. As for Brentwood Academy, after both having extra time off, they and Lipscomb Academy will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 3:00 p.m. on January 3, 2026.
