Basketball Game Preview: Sanger West Hornets vs. Madera South Stallions

Sanger West is 0-5 against Madera South since January of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Sanger West Hornets will venture away from home to take on the Madera South Stallions at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Thursday, Sanger West came up short against Sunnyside and fell 52-39. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Madera South fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Justin Garza on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Guardians by a score of 35-32.

Sanger West will have to keep a close watch on MICHELLE CORONA and CRYSTALINA BUITRON, a pair of players who had a big impact on Madera South's prior game. CORONA posted 14 points, while BUITRON scored 12 points. The dominant performance gave CORONA a new career-high in points.

Sanger West's record is now 13-13. As for Madera South, their record is now 12-11.

Sanger West came up short against Madera South in their previous matchup back in January, falling 33-27. Can Sanger West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
