Basketball Recap: Gertz-Ressler Takes a Loss

Gertz-Ressler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Bell Eagles and fell 42-11. The match marked the Pumas' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Sophie Mejia was Gertz-Ressler's leading scorer, having posted four points. Bernadett Olivares held things down on the boards with five rebounds. Stella Arellano took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Gertz-Ressler now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Bell, they moved to 3-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Gertz-Ressler didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 35-31 win against Rise Kohyang on the 21st. As for Bell, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Huntington Park at 5:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
