Basketball Recap: Middletown Comes Up Short

Middletown was the 40-37 winner over Justin-Siena when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Middletown Mustangs lost 50-24 to the Justin-Siena Braves on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Braves are ranked 15th).

Jordan WASHINGTON had an outrageously good game for Justin-Siena as she dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards. WASHINGTON has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times she's played. Lauren KELLER was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Middletown's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Justin-Siena, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Middletown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-46 win against Ukiah on the 13th. As for Justin-Siena, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-18 victory against McKinleyville on the 13th.
