Baseball Recap: Walker Triumphs

Walker hadn't done well against St. Francis recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Wolverines walked away with a 7-3 win over the Knights. The game was the first time the Wolverines have beaten the Knights on their field since March 17, 2016.

The team relied heavily on Travis Tatom, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Zach Nagle, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

The victory got Walker back to even at 11-11. As for St. Francis, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.

Walker will square off against Mount Paran Christian at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Eagles have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for St. Francis, they will take on Landmark Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The War Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
