Baseball Recap: Polo Wins Going Away Against Orangeville

Polo won the last time they faced Orangeville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Marcos were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Broncos. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Marcos.

Logan Nelson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Polo is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 0-6 otherwise. Nelson was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dawson Foster, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-7. As for Orangeville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Polo will head out on the road to square off against Milledgeville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Missiles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.1 runs per game on average), something the Marcos will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Orangeville, they will host Durand/Pecatonica at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Broncos are facing the Rivermen at the right time seeing as the Rivermen are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
