Basketball Game Preview: Eastlake Titans vs. Sage Creek Bobcats

The Eastlake Titans and the Sage Creek Bobcats will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Eastlake has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the third.

Eastlake is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Peninsula on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Eastlake was outmatched by Peninsula and fell 49-19. The matchup marked the Titans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Sage Creek duked it out withCantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary on Friday. Sage Creek was beaten by Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary 67-30. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 506th, while the Cardinals are ranked 209th).

Sage Creek has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Eastlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Eastlake beat Sage Creek 41-32 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Does Eastlake have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sage Creek turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
