Baseball Game Preview: Ridgeland Panthers vs. LaFayette Ramblers

For the second straight game, Ridgeland will face off against LaFayette. Ridgeland will be playing at home against LaFayette at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Ridgeland turned things around against LaFayette on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Ramblers 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since February 22nd.

Ridgeland got a great performance from Kaiden Williams as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. Williams has become a key player for Ridgeland: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Koltin Webb was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Ridgeland is undefeated when Webb posts two or more runs, but 6-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Joey Hayes, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Ridgeland's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 9-9. As for LaFayette, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-9 record.
