Basketball Recap: Canyon Hills Takes Down Hilltop in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Canyon Hills had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hilltop Lancers, sneaking past 39-37. This was payback for the Rattlers, who suffered a 58-15 loss the last time these two teams met.

It was another big night for Anayla Saulo, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (six). Another player making a difference was Addison Carr, who posted five points and nine rebounds.

Canyon Hills' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-10. As for Hilltop, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.

Coming up, Canyon Hills will face off against El Cajon Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. El Cajon Valley will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Canyon Hills surely won't give up without a fight. Hilltop does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
