Soccer Game Preview: Chaminade vs. Cathedral Catholic

The Chaminade Eagles and the Cathedral Catholic Dons will round out the year against one another at at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cathedral Catholic took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Chaminade, who comes in off a win.

Cathedral Catholic is hoping to do what Taft couldn't last Thursday: put an end to Chaminade's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Chaminade never let Taft onto the board and left with a 5-0 win. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Toreadors are ranked 678th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chaminade hit Taft with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kaitlyn Nelson (2), Natalie Warsavsky, Audrey Egan, and Natalie Kokenda.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Cathedral Catholic's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 3-1 to Academy of Our Lady of Peace.

The victory got Chaminade back to even at 3-3. As for Cathedral Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2-1.
