There's no place like home for Grand Prairie, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Sam Houston Texans by a score of 35-27 on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Gophers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Xavier Clinton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 35 yards and two TDs, while also picking up 64 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Grand Prairie didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Sam Houston to a completion percentage of just 45%. The Gophers weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 60%.

Despite the loss, Sam Houston still got an impressive performance from Jaylen Harper, who picked up 161 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 50 yards.

Grand Prairie's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for Sam Houston, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
