Basketball Recap: Wynot Beats Osmond for Their Third Straight Victory

If Osmond wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Wynot, they should've done a better job of containing Kenna Oligmueller. The Blue Devils blew past the Tigers 53-24 on Friday thanks in part to Oligmueller, who went 6-for-10 on her way to 12 points and six steals. Oligmueller is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Sharpe, who posted 14 points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Despite the loss, Osmond saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Korrine Moes earned 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Moes also set a new season-high mark in three-point shooting accuracy with 50%.

The victory was the third in a row for Wynot, bringing their record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points over those games. As for Osmond, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Wynot will head out on the road to challenge Homer on Tuesday. The Knights have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Osmond, they will be home for the holidays to greet Boyd County on Tuesday.
