Valley Christian is 10-0 against Maranatha since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Valley Christian Defenders will welcome the Maranatha Minutemen at 6:00 p.m.

Valley Christian fell victim to Upland and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Highlanders/Scots, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Defenders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 504th, while the Highlanders/Scots are ranked 71st).

Meanwhile, Maranatha kept a clean sheet against Northview on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 5-0 victory. The Minutemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by five goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Northview from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.

Valley Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-1 record this season. As for Maranatha, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Valley Christian beat Maranatha 4-2 when the teams last played back in January. Will Valley Christian repeat their success, or does Maranatha have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
