Edward Chumley Delivers Best Effort of Season

On Friday, Anna got the W thanks in part to Edward Chumley playing the best football he has all season. Chumley wasn't messing around, rushing for 171 yards and five touchdowns. The game was his fifth straight with two or more rushing touchdowns.

The victory was the third in a row for Anna, bringing their record for this year to 4-3. Chumley and Anna will take on Denison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Cameron Newton's Rushing Yards a New Career-High

On Friday, Walnut Grove had to settle for second even though Cameron Newton put up the best numbers he has all season. Newton rushed for 265 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now punched in two or more in the last seven games he's played.

With the loss, Walnut Grove broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-1. Newton and Walnut Grove will welcome Lovejoy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Williams Posts Huge Game in 55-41 Win

The second Anna player making an appearance here is Ziondre Williams, and for good reason. He threw for 339 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 91 yards on only 12 carries.

Lovejoy pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Adams and Lovejoy will venture away from home to face off against Walnut Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
