            Softball Recap: Milton Eagles vs. Etowah Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Milton was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight  loss  dating back to last season. They were two  runs away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Etowah. Milton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Etowah apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in September of 2021.
 Avery Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.
 On the hitting side, Milton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Sophia Kirby, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  run.
Milton's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
 Coincidentally, Milton and Etowah will both be playing Woodstock the next time they take the field. Milton will head out to face Woodstock at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday, while Etowah will  host them  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
