Basketball Recap: Maywood Academy Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Maywood Academy can now relate to. They took a 42-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus Tigers on Friday.

Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Karen F out in front who posted 13 points in addition to seven assists and four steals. F is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Metzly D, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Maywood Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus' victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-0.

Maywood Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers duke it out with the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus: 18.8, Robert F. Kennedy Community: 27.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
