The Coastal HomeSchool Hurricanes will take on the Providence Athletic Club Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Coastal HomeSchool hasn't scored more than two runs for four games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.
Coastal HomeSchool came up short against John Paul II on Thursday, falling 15-2.
Coastal HomeSchool saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Saul Issa, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Providence Athletic Club gave up the first runs last Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past Asheville T 4-2.
Providence Athletic Club let Evan Watt and Kyle McFarland run wild. Watt scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while McFarland scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Watt has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Patrick Bennett, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Providence Athletic Club always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.
Coastal HomeSchool now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Providence Athletic Club, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.
Providence Athletic Club's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Coastal HomeSchool has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Providence Athletic Club, though, as they've been averaging only 3.4 strikeouts. Will Coastal HomeSchool keep running through batters, or will the Panthers buck the trend?
Everything went Coastal HomeSchool's way against Providence Athletic Club when the teams last played back in March, as Coastal HomeSchool made off with a 14-4 win.
