Effingham County owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Greenbrier Wolfpack. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 8-2 victory back in March.

Effingham County got a great performance from Luke Edwards as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Edwards has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Adam Acel, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

The win made it two in a row for Effingham County and bumps their season record up to 25-5. As for Greenbrier, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-11.

Effingham County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greenbrier, they will host Washington-Wilkes at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wolfpack's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
