Football Game Preview: Osage City Indians vs. St. Marys Bears

The Osage City Indians will square off against the St. Marys Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Osage City's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Osage City's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 43-0 win over Council Grove. Fans of the Indians have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Kasen Parsons continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 97 yards and three TDs, while also throwing for 263 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Reed Silver, who picked up 92 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Osage City was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 219 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 219 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Marys, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top against Riley County by a score of 22-13 on Friday.

One reason for the win was St. Marys' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Roger Browning was the leader with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 13.

St. Marys now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Osage City, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Osage City strolled past St. Marys in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 14-0. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
