Basketball Recap: Aliquippa Takes a Loss

After flying high against Shenango last Thursday, Aliquippa came back down to earth. The Aliquippa Quips were outmatched by the Neshannock Lancers and fell 69-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Quips have suffered since February 7, 2024.

Aliquippa's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-3. As for Neshannock, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.

Aliquippa and Neshannock should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. Aliquippa will challenge Laurel at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday up 262 places (163 vs. 425). Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Aliquippa comes in on four and Neshannock on five. Meanwhile, Neshannock (ranked 66th) will meet Freedom Area (ranked 547th) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
