Basketball Game Preview: Vasquez Mustangs vs. Lancaster Baptist Eagles

After both having extra time off, the Vasquez Mustangs and the Lancaster Baptist Eagles will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Vasquez will be strutting in after a victory while Lancaster Baptist will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with nine losses in a row dating back to last season, Vasquez turned things around against The Palmdale Aerospace Academy two weeks ago. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 37-34 win from a begrudging Mustangs squad. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since December 19, 2023.

Meanwhile, Lancaster Baptist ended up a good deal behind Faith Baptist two weeks ago and lost 40-25. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Vasquez's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Lancaster Baptist, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Vasquez was able to grind out a solid victory over Lancaster Baptist in their previous meeting back in January, winning 34-26. Will Vasquez repeat their success, or does Lancaster Baptist have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
