Football Recap: Kingman Takes a Loss

Kingman had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it four. They were beaten by the Garden Plain Owls 37-0. Having soared to a lofty 54 points in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Garden Plain, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.7 points over those games.

Emrick Hays was his usual excellent self, rushing for 168 yards and three scores while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards.

Looking ahead, Kingman will head out on the road to challenge Belle Plaine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Dragons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Garden Plain, they will welcome Douglass at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Owls will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
