Softball Recap: Washington-Wilkes Takes a Loss

Washington-Wilkes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Elbert County Blue Devils, falling 12-2. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in September of 2023.

Kaidyn Porter was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Molly Dawson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Washington-Wilkes' defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Elbert County, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Washington-Wilkes will take on Hart County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games the Bulldogs have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Elbert County, they will challenge Prince Avenue Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Devils 2.5, the Wolverines 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
