Allatoona waltzed into their matchup on Friday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They blew past the Dalton Catamounts 14-5. The Buccaneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Jacob Jenkins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February.

In other pitching news, JT Tow looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, Cruz Paul was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Slayton, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Allatoona kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive games.

Allatoona pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Dalton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Allatoona beat Dalton by a score of 6-3 later that day.
