Recap: Hughson Huskies vs. Livingston Wolves
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up eight more assists than your opponent, a fact the Hughson Huskies proved on Thursday. They blew past Livingston 56-30. Given Hughson's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while Livingston is ranked 819th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Madi Duron, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Quillen, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and five blocks.
Tatianna Alvarez and Emily Lara certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Alvarez scored 16 points, while Lara scored five points along with three steals. Alvarez scored a full 53.3% of Livingston's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Adriana Cervantes Molina, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
Hughson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6-1 record this season. As for Livingston, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hughson will take on Hilmar at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Livingston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ripon Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
