Softball Game Preview: Riverdale Ridge Ravens vs. Fort Collins Lambkins

The Riverdale Ridge Ravens will square off against the Fort Collins Lambkins at 12:15 p.m. on Friday. Riverdale Ridge will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Riverdale Ridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Grand Junction, who was ranked 18th at the time (Riverdale Ridge was ranked 14th). The Ravens' pitchers stepped up to hand the Tigers a 12-0 shutout on Saturday. The Ravens might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 games by six runs or more this season.

Peyton Saenz was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Jaeanna Sandoval, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

Riverdale Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They are a perfect 15-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Fort Collins had just enough and edged out Mountain Vista 8-7 on Friday.

Fort Collins' victory bumped their record up to 18-7-1. As for Riverdale Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 19-6.

Everything went Riverdale Ridge's way against Fort Collins in their previous matchup back in August, as Riverdale Ridge made off with a 16-4 victory. Do the Ravens have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lambkins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
