Chaffee came tearing into  Wednesday's  game with seven straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with  a   7-3  win over the Fredericktown Black Cats. That's more bragging rights for the Red Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Chaffee's victory bumped their record up to 19-3. As for Fredericktown, they moved to 16-5 with that  loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

The Red Devils will  challenge  Poplar Bluff  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday with a big rank  advantage  (20 vs. 154). Meanwhile,  Fredericktown (ranked 51st) will meet Neelyville (ranked 219th)  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
