Basketball Game Preview: North Monterey County Condors vs. McKinleyville Panthers

The North Monterey County Condors will take on the McKinleyville Panthers in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

North Monterey County is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Watsonville just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the Wildcatz and fell 59-29. The contest marked the Condors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when McKinleyville took on Marin Academy on Thursday. McKinleyville came out on top against Marin Academy by a score of 39-29. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Wildcats are ranked 474th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

McKinleyville has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for North Monterey County, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.
