Eunice won the last time they faced Estancia, and Elijah Melancon did his part to make sure it happened again. The Cardinals snuck past the Bears with a 40-36 win on Friday for which the team can thank Melancon, who threw for 197 yards and three TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 45 yards and one score. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played.

Eunice has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 50.0 points this season. As for Estancia, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
