Soccer Game Preview: Compton vs. Long Beach Poly

Compton hasn't had much luck against Long Beach Poly recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Compton Tarbabes will square off against the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits at 5:30 p.m.

Compton is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Cabrillo, falling 11-0. That's two games in a row now that the Tarbabes have lost by exactly 11 goals.

Meanwhile, Long Beach Poly entered their tilt with Millikan on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Rams a 2-0 shutout.

Long Beach Poly has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five contests. As for Compton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-22-3.

Compton might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Long Beach Poly when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Compton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
