Soccer Game Preview: Washington vs. Marion

The Washington Warriors will challenge the Marion Wolves on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Washington's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Dunkerton. Washington might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Marion, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They skirted past Western Dubuque 1-0. Marion haven't had any issues with Western Dubuque recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The victory made it two in a row for Washington and bumps their season record up to 7-5-4. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two games. As for Marion, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3-8.

Washington suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Marion in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
