Baseball Recap: Bacon County Gets the Win

Bacon County lost a heartbreaker the last time they played East Laurens, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Raiders blew past the Falcons 19-1 on Friday.

Kayden Tyre was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Tyre was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Caiden Lewis was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Lewis is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Scottland Hennesy, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Bacon County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for East Laurens, they now also have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Bacon County will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against McIntosh County Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Laurens, they will head out on the road to take on Johnson County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
