Basketball Recap: Camarillo Skates Past Royal with Ease

Camarillo won the last time they faced Royal and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Camarillo Scorpions claimed a resounding 70-11 win over the Royal Highlanders. The Scorpions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 22 points or more this season.

Leading Camarillo to victory were Emerson Martin and Christa Contreras. Martin posted 18 points in addition to six boards and six steals, while Contreras had 13 points along with eight assists and three steals. That's the most assists Contreras has posted since back in January of 2024. Lacie Moody was another key player, putting up eight points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.

The victory (which was Camarillo's third in a row) raised their record to 15-8. As for Royal, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season.

Camarillo has already played their next contest, an 81-50 win against Moorpark on the 24th. As for Royal, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-31 defeat against Oak Park on the 22nd.
