Football Recap: Okolona Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Okolona managed to keep up with South Pontotoc until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Chieftains came up short against the Cougars, falling 41-19. If the Chieftains were looking for revenge after losing 28-18 to the Cougars when the teams met back in August of 2016, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Okolona saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaiden Grady picked up 105 receiving yards and one TD. Those 105 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Grady. Bryson Washingtn got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for Okolona and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for South Pontotoc, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Okolona has already played their next game, a 27-6 victory against Nettleton on the 26th. As for South Pontotoc, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-6 defeat against Amory on the 26th.
