Football Game Preview: Bishop Badgers vs. Raymondville Bearkats + How To Watch

Bishop has won three straight games at home, while Raymondville has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Badgers will host the Bearkats at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bishop took a 38-point defeat the last time they faced off against San Diego, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Badgers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vaqueros on Friday, sneaking past 30-27.

Bishop's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braxten Eli Montalvo, who threw for 276 yards and three TDs, and also punched in one rushing score. Eli Montalvo has become a key player for the Badgers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise. Matthew Reyna was Eli Montalvo's top target, picking up 102 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Raymondville was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Rio Hondo 48-21. The Bearkats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 27 points or more this season.

The victory got Bishop back to even at 4-4. As for Raymondville, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.

Everything went Bishop's way against Raymondville when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as Bishop made off with a 34-13 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Bearkats' Chris Gonzalez, who picked up 165 receiving yards and one score.
