Football Recap: Micah Cowan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Van Wert over Memorial

Van Wert lost against Memorial back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cougars took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roughriders. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Van Wert lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Micah Cowan, who picked up 330 receiving yards and one score. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 101.3 receiving yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Crummey, who threw for 461 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt.

Van Wert now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.
