Baseball Recap: St. Paul Triumphs

St. Paul posted their closest win since April 4th on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Bellevue Redmen 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Flyers.

Nate Griffin got the start for St. Paul and what a start it was: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Griffin has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, St. Paul's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Izaac Snyder, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

St. Paul's win bumped their record up to 20-3-1. As for Bellevue, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.

St. Paul has already played their next contest, an 8-5 victory against Edison on the 26th. As for Bellevue, they will host Shelby at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
