Kennedy Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Layke Fields, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 14 boards. Fields is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 47% in the last 34 games she's played dating back to last season. Bella Magestro was another key player, going 7-for-12 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and six assists.

Kennedy Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in ten consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Wheeling Park faced Nitro in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Wheeling Park fell 68-57 to Nitro. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (56), the Patriots still had to take the loss.

Kennedy Catholic's record now sits at 15-5. As for Wheeling Park, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-8.

Kennedy Catholic came up short against Wheeling Park when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 67-54. Can Kennedy Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
