Softball Recap: Ridgeland Victorious

It was a proper cat-fight when Ridgeland took on Gilmer on Monday. The Panthers came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 6-2. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won eight in a row.

Chesney Pritchett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, Kailynn Bailey was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Jordyn Thomas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Ridgeland now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Gilmer, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ridgeland will host Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gilmer, they will take on Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
