Mount St. Joseph faced Archbishop Spalding in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Gaels were dealt a 56-20 defeat at the hands of the Cavaliers. The Gaels haven't had much luck with the Cavaliers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Mount St. Joseph's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Archbishop Spalding, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
