Basketball Recap: Orange Cove Takes a Loss

Orange Cove lost against Farmersville back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Orange Cove Titans were outmatched by the Farmersville Aztecs and fell 49-20. That's two games in a row now that the Titans have lost by exactly 29 points.

Farmersville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Janessa Garza, who dropped a triple-double on 16 points, ten boards, and ten steals. Garza is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 23 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Haylie Tassey, who posted 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven steals.

Orange Cove's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Farmersville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11.

Orange Cove has already played their next contest (against Wonderful College Prep Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Farmersville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 46-12 victory against Wonderful College Prep Academy on the 18th.
