Basketball Game Preview: Bristow Pirates vs. Bethany Bronchos

The Bristow Pirates will venture away from home to square off against the Bethany Bronchos at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Bristow easily dispatched Sperry on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Bristow fell just short of Berryhill by a score of 54-51 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Pirates have suffered since December 5, 2023.

Despite their defeat, Bristow saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Logan Mcdaniel, who posted 13 points along with five boards and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Those 13 points gave Mcdaniel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tj Wilson, who scored 11 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Bethany didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Ardmore on Friday, but they still walked away with a 52-47 victory.

Bethany pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points over those games. As for Bristow, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Bristow was dealt a bruising 75-45 loss at the hands of Bethany in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Bristow avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
