Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Tess Oldenburg and Zhya Holyfield Lead Chino to Victory

On Monday, everything went the Chino Cowboys's way against the Yorba Linda Mustangs as the Chino Cowboys made off with a 60-35 victory. The Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 25 points or more this season.

Chino was led to victory by Zhya Holyfield and Tess Oldenburg. Holyfield posted 19 points in addition to six assists and five boards, while Oldenburg had 19 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. The match was Oldenburg's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of London Gibbs, who put up five points.

The win made it two in a row for Chino and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Yorba Linda, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Chino won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Covina at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Covina has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Yorba Linda, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Kennedy at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
